about

I've been out walking and I've seen the leaves
Changing their colors revealing their beauty
I've seen them fall down to the ground

How come the leaves shine their brightest colors in the trees before they fall?

I've been spending my time with you and my colors seem to have changed from green to yellow, from yellow to orange, from orange to red.

How come I feel my most alive before I fall for you?

And the trees are letting go of their leaves, letting them fall
And die and get raked up and played in by children
But I, I don't want to say how you changed me, how you changed me--

Cause now I've got to fall from your tree,
Yeah you've got to let go of me and my love
Cause you don't know, no you don't know how to love the colors I show
And I don't know how to stay evergreen, no
I don't know how to stay evergreen--
I'm just deciduously falling as I change
Falling as I change
You stay the same
But I'm falling.
